Title
Tends in Industrial Engineering and Management: Education and Research
Abstract
This presentation traces the parallel developments of the fields of industrial engineering and management from the early contributions of their pioneers to their maturity as recognized areas of learning, research and practice. The extension of the application of the industrial engineering models and techniques to a broad variety of manufacturing and service problems is discussed. Theoretical research in new models and algorithms is presented, as well as investigations of problems of current interest such as helth care, homeland security, urban transportation, and others.
