主讲人简介:
Donald Huisingh is a professor at the Institute for a Secure and Sustainable Environment, University of Tennessee. He got his PhD degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1965. Dr. Huisingh is skilled in interdisciplinary education and holistic approaches to defining and solving society's problems so that effective and equitable progress can be made toward Sustainable Societies.
He is skilled in course and curriculum development and curriculum evaluation in topics ranging from Sustainable Development and regional sustainable development to more detailed issues such as: toxic use reduction, life cycle thinking, industrial ecology, pollution prevention, eco-efficiency and eco-affectivity. He also addresses issues such as the philosophical, ethical, and political implications of improper eco-system management, human population growth and human capacity building, human empowerment, trans-gender, trans-generational, trans-ethnic and trans-regional equity.
内容简介:
The presentation explores the possibilities of holistic and integrated approaches to achieve equitable, post-fossil carbon societies, which are truly sustainable. Fundamental questions we have to pose ourselves are: What can we learn from history? What roles have crisis had as motivators for making changes?
