内容简介:
This presentation highlights research on how open innovation can foster “smart” cities by applying “Living lab” methodologies for developing user-relevant and placed-based smart services. Building on strategies and research findings from EU projects, the discussion argues that open innovation can work if it is interpreted not in terms of a theory-driven concept, but as concrete solutions for dealing with systemic and demand driven e-services that provide tangible benefits to citizens and the urban communities. To foster research and practice, a new model of open innovation in smart cities is proposed which links government and citizens through ICT by engaging citizens directly in the co-production of the applications and services required to meet their needs as well as fulfilling broader policy objectives.
