内容简介:
The on-going disputes in the South China Sea, involving China and its Southeast Asian neighbours, notably Vietnam and the Philippines, over island territories and access to natural resources have made this maritime area a regional flashpoint. In this presentation, Dr. Len will focus on the territorial and oil and gas disputes in the South China Sea. First, he will examine China’s behaviour from the time of Mao Zedong to Hu Jintao. He will then touch on the key opportunities and constraints Xi Jinping faces in managing the South China Sea disputes at a time of heightened tension in the South China Sea.
