TANG Loon Ching (董润桢), Professor and Head of Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering in the National University of Singapore (NUS), obtained his Ph.D degree from Cornell University in Operations Research. He has published extensively and has been presented with a number of best paper awards. Prof Tang is the main author of the award-winning book: Six Sigma: Advanced Tools for Black Belts and Master Black Belts. He has been an invited speaker in many international conferences and workshops held at various universities in East Asia. Besides being active in the forefront of quality research, in the last 20 years, Prof Tang has been consulted on a wide range of problems that demand innovative applications of optimization, probability and statistics as well as projects aiming at improving operational efficiency. He is currently on the advisory board of Singapore Innovation and Productivity Institute.
内容简介:
Globalization has brought about unprecedented changes in the economic structure of developed countries. It has also triggered a strong renewed interest in productivity improvement in both manufacturing and service industries. We shall provide an overview of how productivity is typically measured and present some statistics compiled by APO. We then discuss the current trend in driving productivity at organizational level and examine the scope for research in productivity management.
