内容简介:
Non-communicable chronic diseases (NCDs) account for the vast majority of premature mortality and illness in most middle- and high-income countries of the world. Controlling NCDs presents a complex policy challenge. In this seminar, Eggleston shares evidence about diabetes management as a lens for understanding the “value for money” in caring for patients with complicated NCDs across diverse health systems, including Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, the US, and the Netherlands. Analyzing longitudinal patient-level data on resource use and quality outcomes, the research seeks to provide rigorous empirical evidence on programs and policies to promote prevention, control cost, improve the net value of care.
