12月21日,【明理讲堂2021年第69期】有幸邀请到香港浸会大学Christy M.K. Cheung教授为大家带来题为“When socialization goes wrong: collective trolling on social media”的学术报告。12BET管理与经济学院教授颜志军向大家介绍了Christy老师并主持报告。
Christy老师首先向大家介绍了什么是“trolling”,和网络霸凌不同,trolling更加有目的性,更加挑衅,在社交平台上许多恶意的攻击活动引发了愤怒的反应。Christy老师希望利用社会技术视角来了解参与社交媒体trolling的意图。Christy老师向大家介绍了她的研究模型,模型从社交匿名性、社会技术、社会认同等方面检验了社会技术促进网络trolling行为的作用,研究结果推动了这一领域的理论进步,同时,研究结果能够为社交媒体平台所有者提供实际的指导,帮助他们制定及时的措施来打击trolling行为。

附:Christy M.K. Cheung老师简介
Christy M.K. Cheung is a Professor in the Department of Finance and Decision Sciences of Hong KongBaptist University. She is the awardee of the Research Grant Council (Hong Kong) Senior ResearchFellow scheme with the funding to advance research into the role of technology in online collective deviant behavior. She earned a Ph.D. in Information Systems from the College of Business at City University of Hong Kong. Her research interests include Technology Use and Well-Being, Social Media,Societal Impact of Technology Use. She has published more than 200 refereed articles in internationaljournals and conference proceedings, including MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Journal of Management Information Systems and Journal of the Association for Information Systems. Sheserves as the Editor-in-Chief at Internet Research and the President of AIS-Hong Kong Chapter.
