2020年11月24日，【明理讲堂2020年第36期】有幸邀请到美国麻省理工学院斯隆商学院运营管理系YanChong (Karen) Zheng教授为大家带来题为”Improving Farmers’ Revenue on Digital Agricultural Platforms” 的学术报告，报告采用腾讯会议在线直播的形式。管理与经济学院部分领导、教师、硕博研究生等多名师生参加了本次讲座，主持人为管理与经济学院技术经济及战略管理系李果教授。

　　在报告中，Karen Zheng教授首先对当前发展中国家农产品供应链的特点及面临的关键挑战进行了总体介绍。之后，以印度卡纳塔克邦的农业数字平台(Unified Market Platform, UMP)的为例，从物流挑战、投标效率、市场集中度和价格发现过程五方面对平台优化的影响因素及设计机制进行了深入透彻地讲解。最后，Karen Zheng教授分享了其在农业数字平台方面的研究心得，大家深受启发。

　　附：Yanchong (Karen) Zheng教授简介

　　Yanchong (Karen) Zheng is a Sloan School Career Development Professor and an Associate Professor of Operations Management at the MIT Sloan School of Management. Karen’s research studies fundamental and emerging operations management problems with a critical lens on the behavioral factors impacting human decisions, particularly in information-critical environments. She works on a diverse range of areas including supply chain information sharing, environmental and socially responsible supply chains, smallholder agriculture operations, as well as consumer behavior in pricing and revenue management. Her research integrates theoretical modeling of OM problems with empirical investigation of human behavior. Karen has won several paper awards from the INFORMS society, the NSF CAREER Award to support her research on trust and information transparency in operations. Karen holds undergraduate and master’s degrees from Tsinghua University in China and a PhD in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University.
