Special Associate Researcher Li Hui gives lecture on "low-carbon energy environmental impact and cost-benefit analysis "

On October 26,2020, Li Hui, Special Associate Research fellow, Department of Applied Economics, School of Management and Economics, Beijing Institute of Technology was invited to bring us an academic report entitled "Low-carbon energy environmental impact and cost-benefit analysis ". The lecture attracted teachers, students and scholars to participate and discuss enthusiastically. The host is Professor Hao Yu, Department of Applied Economics, School of Management and Economics, and the organizer is the Center for Scientific Research and academic Exchange.

Focusing on the theme of "environmental impact and cost-benefit analysis of low-carbon energy ", Li Hui first introduced the development trend of low-carbon energy, analyzed the complex economic, environmental and social effects of developing low-carbon energy, and proposed the need to establish a set of scientific methods to assess the comprehensive impact of low-carbon energy. He introduced two research work on environmental impact assessment and economic cost-benefit analysis of low carbon energy. The first study was a comprehensive assessment of the impact of fuel substitution on cooking energy under the framework of technical and economic analysis. The environmental impact and economic cost evaluation system including energy varieties and energy use equipment is constructed in order to provide reference for the residents to carry out clean and efficient energy substitution. The second research work is based on the life cycle evaluation method to carry out wind power environmental impact assessment and compare and analyze the environmental impact and cost difference of wind power and coal power in the whole life cycle. At the same time, the emission reduction potential of wind power instead of coal power is estimated. Finally, teacher Li Hui put forward the next research plan on low carbon energy from the aspects of research data, research object and research method.

After the report, the participants and teacher Li Hui had heated discussion and exchangeon low-carbon energy substitution and resource endowment constraints, low-carbon energy health impact, as well as micro-data research and other related issues. The report received a warm responseby the majority of teachers and students and scholars alike!
