Professor Liang HuiGang, University of Memphis, USA, gives report

  On July 25,2020, Professor Liang Huigang, Department of Business Information and Technology, Memphis University, USA, was invited to bring you a AI in Medicine:Opportunities and Challenges. Professor William Yuchung Wang, University of Waikado, New Zealand, hosted the report.

  Professor Liang Huigang's report described the AI application of medical field from four angles: what is AI、how AI works, AI in medical field, and the constraints and challenges. Professor Liang Huigang, based on examples of AlphGo, image recognition, skin disease recognition, used charts to vividly introduce the concept, principles and applications of AI, and expounded that there are limitations in interpretability, data demand and transferability in the medical field, as well as challenges in patient safety, doctor-patient relationship, public trust and so on.

  After the report, the participants actively discussed and exchanged with Professor Liang Huigang on AI issues in the medical field. The report received a warm response!

  

  Speaker Profile

  Huigang Liang is Professor and FedEx Chair of Excellence in MIS of Business Information and Technology Department at The University of Memphis. He received his M.S. degree in computer science and his Ph.D. degree in healthcare information systems from Auburn University, in 2002 and 2003, respectively. His research interests include socio-behavioral, managerial, and strategic information technology issues at both individual and organizational levels in a variety of contexts. His work has appeared in MIS Quarterly (MISQ), Information Systems Research (ISR), Journal of MIS, Journal of AIS, MIT Sloan Management Review, Communications of the ACM, Decision Support Systems, Information Systems Journal, and Journal of Strategic Information Systems, among other publications. He has served as associate editor for MISQ and is currently senior editor for JAIS and associate editor for ISR and Information & Management.
