On January 18th, [Mingli Lecture Hall, 2021, 12th Issue] had the honor to invite Professor Tan Yinliang from Tulane University in the United States to bring you an academic report entitled "When to Play Your Advertisement? Optimal Insertion Policy of Behavioral Advertisement". Associate Professor Jia Lin of the college presided over the meeting and extended a warm welcome to Teacher Tan.

In the report, Mr. Tan first introduced some of his research directions to help everyone have a basic understanding of his research content. After that, Mr. Tan introduced one of his most recent researches: a study on the timing of behavioral advertising and the best placement strategy. Mr.Tan introduced this research in a profound but simple way from the importance of behavioral advertising, the lack of existing research, the strategies he proposed, the process of experimental simulation, and the results of experimental evaluation. The optimal strategy for behavioral advertising timing based on a thresholding strategy, and this strategy not only significantly improves the profitability of the platform, but also improves the completion rate of consumers watching the advertisement. After the report, Mr. Tan had a lively discussion and exchange with the participating teachers and students. The report received a enthusiastic response and received unanimous praise from the teachers and students.

Professor Tan Yinliang currently works at the Freeman Business School of Tulane University, serving as an Assistant Professor of Management Science and Executive Director of the Godlin Center for International Education.Professor Tan is a PhD in Operations Management and Information Systems at the University of Florida.In 2019, Tan was named the world's Top 40 Business School professors under 40 and the first professor in Tulane history to receive this distinction.Professor Tan's main research fields are technology management and innovation, electronics pricing, and artificial intelligence.His research was published in the top international journal Management Science,MIS Quarterly,Information Systems Research,Production and Operations Management et al.And now serves as a senior editor of Production and Operations Management and an associate editor of Decision Science.
