Five CCUS group standards led by CEEP-BIT officially released

In July, 2023, Led by the Research Center for Energy and Environmental Policy, Beijing Institute of Technology, jointly compiled by the China Coal Society and many units in the industry, 5 CCUS series group standards including Data Management Specification for Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage Demonstration Projects (T / CCS 054-2023), Risk Assessment Guide for the Whole Process of Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage Projects (T / CCS 053-2023), Selection Guide for Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage Projects (T / CCS 052-2023), and Guidelines for Cost Accounting for the Whole Process of Carbon Capture-displacement Oil Production Projects in Coal-fired Power Plants (T / CCS 055-2023), Guidelines for Greenhouse Gas Emission Assessment of Carbon Capture and Storage Technology Projects in Coal-fired Power Plants (T / CCS 056-2023) were officially released, filling in the gap in the related fields.

The Outline of National Standardization Development of the CPC Central Committee and The State Council clearly pointed out that "to study and formulate carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) standards, and implement the carbon peak and carbon neutral standardization improvement project". Responding to the national standardization work deployment, Professor Wei Yiming team jointed hands with industry experts and scholars, around practical problems such as data management, project location, cost accounting, risk assessment, and environmental impact, carried out five CCUS series group standard research and preparation. In the process of compilation, opinions from relevant enterprises, scientific research institutions, international companies and the public were fully solicited and adopted. This series of achievements provide a basis for accelerating the improvement of the carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) standard system construction, and promoting the standardized application and industrialization development of CCUS technology.
