On the afternoon of February 10, 2017, Dr. Liu Zhu, the California Institute of Technology, was invited to visit our school and presented an academic report entitled "Anthropogenic carbon cycles and the implication for climate change mitigation". A number of teachers and students fro the CEEP attended the report. The report was hosted by Associate Professor Yu Biying.
Dr. Liu Zhu, now a postdoctoral fellow at the California Institute of Technology, is Research Associate of the Harvard University and a member of NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) Global Urban Carbon Program.
In this report, Professor Liu Zhu demonstrated, in the context of severe global climate change, the necessity of restricting human emissions mitigation of climate change and the uncertainties in data, cognition and accounting in the course of research.
