Dr. Xian Sun, Johns Hopkins University, Gives Lecture

June 13, Dr. Sun Xian, Johns Hopkins University, invited by the Department of International Trade and Finance, made an academic report on "Wealth and Corporate Social Responsibility" in the main building 409. Dr. Xian Sun introduced the following cutting-edge issues: companies often take unethical behaviors, which is a manifestation of a lack of commitment to social responsibility. We studied an important influence of corporate social responsibility: the company exogenous changes in wealth. We found that the reaction to the company's growing wealth and wealth loss is asymmetric: the magnitude of the reduce of corporate social responsibility with the loss of wealth is much greater than the rate of increase in corporate social responsibility with the growing of wealth.
