November 16, 2010, Dr. Zhang Zhiqiang, Renmin University of China, was invited to give a talk entitled "China's solution of the world's financial problems" at Room 605 of the Graduate Building. Professor Xiao Shufang, Department of Accounting chaired the lecture.
Dr. Zhang introduced in layman's language important financial theories between 1950 and 1980, including the MM model and the Gordon model, etc.; put forward eight unsolved financial problems, including positive or negative sustainable growth rate, the equivalent estimation, optimal capital structure, and the relationship between risk and return. He also described his own research results: ZZ growth paradox, ZZ growth model, ZZ CAPM, ZZ lever model, etc.
During the lecture, Dr. Zhang and audience had heated discussion. Students were impressed with his humble and rigorous attitude and vast and systematic knowledge.
