At the invitation of Mr. Wei Yiming, Dean of SME and Director of BIT’s Research Center of Energy and Environment Policies, Professor Tad S. Murty of the University of Ottawa, Canada, paid an academic visit to BIT from June 1 to 5.
At the two inviting institutions he gave each a lecture, entitled Natural Hazards and Climate Change and Early warning Systems for natural hazards: The fundamentals respectively. Based on his long endeavor on natural disasters, he shared his bonanza of ways and means to understand and cope with them, especially to build an effective network of early-warning system with the interesting audience.
