As early as 9:30 am, Jan. 11, half an hour before scheduled time, Rm. 1003 of the Central Teaching Bldg. had been packed with exciting students and teachers of SME, waiting for the lecture by Prof. Panikkos Zata Poutziouris of International Institute for Management, Cyprus.
Professor Poutziouris is a leading researcher on family business and professor of several universities and colleges internationally. His achievement of over 30 papers published in principal magazines and more than 50 articles presented in international symposiums has brought him many awards and wide attention from both academic circle and public media.
Prof. Poutziouris was just as enthusiastic, as he also showed up early, warming up himself by talking with attendees.
The Lecture began at 10 o’clock. In his presentation entitled “The Family Business: Trends and Practices”, Mr. Lecturer gave a general review on status quo of family business globally, their unique functions and current predicaments, all made interesting and easy to understand with real cases and examples. Attendees were quite satisfactory about and grateful to the lecturer as well as the two interpreters helping to iron out tough parts in the lecture and the dialogue thereafter.
