Following last year’s two publications in internationally renowned journals Nature Biotechnology, Professor Hu Ruifa & Dr. Cai Jinyang of the School of Management and Economics and Professor Huang Jikun & Associate Professor Wang Xiaobing of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Policy Research Center, co-authored a paper "Patents and China's research and development in agricultural biotechnology " was again accepted by the journal and published in Patents column in November 11, 2013. The paper found Chinese scientists’ intellectual property knowledge and patents avoidance behavior in transgenic biotechnology was related to their research tasks. When involving commercial applications, 90% of the research used patents legitimately; Compared to American scientists, the Chinese scientists engaged in research and development of transgenic biotechnology are more concerned about whether the material used in this study has been under patent protection. The paper is a fruit of a National Natural Science Foundation major international research cooperation project presided over by Professor Hu Ruifa . ( Article link :
