October 18, 2013, UNESCO Life cycle and climate change Chair, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) lifecycle planning committee member, EU green product life cycle observatory director, Dr. Pere Fullana Palmer visited our school and gave a lecture entitled "Life cycle management and environmental improvement: ecodesign, ecolabelling, environmental product declarations and carbon footprint". The lecture was hosted by Professor Liu Yun. Teachers in the related fields and graduate students from the Evaluation and Innovation Management Center attended the meeting.
Dr. Fullana first introduced the concept of life-cycle assessment and its related role for environmental improvement, then pointed out four product evaluation tools from life cycle perspectives: eco-design, eco-labeling, environmental product declarations and carbon footprint. Finally, Dr.Fullana highlighted, faced with the challenge of global climate change, product life cycle carbon footprint evaluation management will be widely used.
