May 27, 2013, Krasimira A. Paskaleva, researcher from the University of Manchester Business School was invited to visit with the School of Economics and Management and made a report entitled "Open innovation and Smart Cities: Applying living lab approach to service development" at Conference Room 418 in the main building. Visiting professor Alan Porter from Georgia Institute of Technology and a dozen of SME teachers and students attended the lecture.
Researcher Paskaleva has long committed to innovation management, e-government and smart city related research work. He has presided over and participated in a number of European Union and the United States research projects. Researcher Paskaleva presented their ongoing research projects related to smart city, coupled with a description of the smart city concept and the relevant core ideas. The differences between smart city and the traditional e-government were compared.
