May 27, 2013, invited by Dean Professor Wei Yiming, Director of Beijing Institute of Technology Energy and Environmental Policy Research Center, Professor Xue Jinjun, Nagoya University made a report entitled "Environment Dilemma in Economic Development ". Professor Wang Zhaohua hosted the report.

Professor Xue briefed "China Low-carbon Economy Development Report 2013" he had just released.  He then analyzed the relationship between environmental protection and the industrial structure, international trade, technological progress, energy structure and strength, and urbanization.  Professor Xue elaborated China's environmental Kuznets curve, from Japan's development experience pointed out the problems in China's environmental protection and made policy recommendations.
After the report, Professor Xue discussed with participants on main greenhouse gas estimates, fairness of carbon emissions and other issues.
