December 14, 2012, the China Association for Science and Technology Fifth "Outstanding Scientific and Technological Workers” awards ceremony was held in the People’s Great Hall. Professor Wei Yiming and Professor Wang Zhaohua won the title of "outstanding scientific and technological workers”.
 The central and state leader of relevant departments including Han Qide, Vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, and Chairman of China Association for Science and Technology, Deng Nan, Wang Ersheng, Vice Minister of the Central Organization Ministry, and Du Zhanyuan, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education attended the ceremony and presented the awards to the winners.
