Invited Talk: Associate Prof. Ran Zhang, Peking University

  December 16, 2011, Prof. Ran Zhang, Peking University, gave a lecture entitled “Empirical accounting research and accounting research projects” at Room 103 of the Graduate Building.



 
  Prof. Zhang briefly introduced how to carry out an empirical research based on capital markets and financial accounting information. A classic Harvard case was used to explore the right methods of accounting research. He also shared personal research learning and experiences.


Speaker Profile:
  Pulitzer University of Colorado School of Business, Ph.D., associate professor of Peking University Guanghua School of Management, Doctoral Advisor, , the national leader in academic accounting (talent reserve)of Ministry of Finance. Published more than twenty papers in the Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of International Financial Management and Accounting, Economic Research, Management World, Accounting Research, Financial Research, Quarterly Journal of Economics and other journals. Has directed or participated in several projects of national and provincial Natural Science Foundation Fund. Won the American Accounting Association Mid-Western Region "Best Doctoral Dissertation Award," Northeast Region "Best Paper Award." In 2010, received the U.S. Harvard Business School Global Colloquium on Participant-Centered Learning certificate. In October 2011, received the 23rd annual Asia-Pacific International Accounting Vernon Zimmerman Best Paper Award, the first mainland scholar to win the honor.
