School of Management and Economics Receives Five-Year EQUIS Accreditation

Recently, the School of Management and Economics received official notification from the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) that it has passed the re-accreditation of the EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) and has been granted a five-year accreditation. The five-year accreditation is the highest recognition EQUIS bestows upon business schools, indicating that the school has fully met EQUIS's stringent standards. This accolade is a high affirmation of the school's work in talent cultivation, faculty development, teaching and research, and social services. With this achievement, the school has now attained the highest five-year accreditation from all three major international business school accreditation bodiesAACSB, EQUIS, and AMBAjoining the ranks of less than 1% of schools worldwide that have achieved this distinction.

In 2023, an EQUIS re-accreditation review team conducted an on-site evaluation of the school. The review experts held over ten discussions with university leaders, administrative departments, school leaders, responsible professors, corporate representatives, alumni, and faculty and student representatives. They also inspected the schools teaching facilities, educational environment, and office conditions. Following a comprehensive evaluation, the expert team highly praised the school's achievements in recent years and provided constructive suggestions for its future development.

Participating in international accreditation is a key strategy for the school to enhance its level of international education. In recent years, under the leadership of the university and with the support of various departments and sister schools, the School of Management and Economics has actively pursued international accreditation based on the principle of "improvement through evaluation." Significant progress has been made in discipline development, program construction, talent cultivation, faculty development, scientific research, and corporate collaboration. The school has successfully passed the initial and re-accreditations of the three major business accreditationsAMBA, AACSB, and EQUISeach time earning the maximum five-year accreditation. Attaining the highest accreditation period from all three organizations underscores the unanimous recognition and high regard from international authoritative business accreditation bodies and marks a significant milestone in the school's endeavor to benchmark against international educational standards.
