International Organization Innovation Institute summer study on global governance has successfully completed its Geneva trip

From July 24 to 28,2023, the first phase of the Global Governance Summer Training Program of the International Organization Innovation Institute was successfully conducted in Geneva, Switzerland. Liu Hao, executive director of the Institute of International Organization Innovation, Zhao Hao, vice dean of Xu Teli College, Guan Hong, vice dean of the School of Management and Economics, Ye Xuanting, vice director of the Institute of International Organization Innovation, Ma Zhenyuzi, director of the administrative office, and 20 undergraduate and graduate students participated in the study. They visited several United Nations institutions and relevant international organizations to understand the history, institutional functions, organizational structure, governance issues, challenges and opportunities, and focused on key issues such as diplomatic negotiations, scientific and technological governance, international trade, and digital governance.


As the home of the United Nations and many international organizations, Geneva, Switzerland, is also the hub of ideological enlightenment, scientific and technological innovation and multilateral diplomacy. It has held many far-reaching international conferences and negotiations, providing a window for young people to understand international organizations and global governance.


Students said that although the study was full of challenges, but the harvest was fruitful. From listening to expert lectures, to experiencing and practicing, from understanding the basic situation of international organizations to discussing cutting-edge issues, students constantly self-examined in the process of learning and practice, enrich their knowledge reserve, improve their cross-cultural exchange ability, and strengthen their analysis and thinking on global governance issues. In the process of training, teacher Liu Hao, Zhao Hao, GuanHong, Ye Xuanting guided students on resource management, multitasking, critical dialectical thinking, the public speech and writing, professional career development planning, encouraged students to participate in global governance, promote to build a more fair, sharing and inclusive global governance order.
