[China News] Tang Baojun: New energy auto-makers can not always live on subsidies

Author: Tang Baojun (Associate Dean of the School of Economics and Management, Beijing Institute of Technology), Ma Ye (Beijing Institute of Technology Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research, PhD)
We believe that shrinking subsidies for new energy vehicles is an inevitable process. New energy vehicle business can not always live on subsidies. If you blindly rely on policy support, the industry can not have healthy development. Enterprises must learn to walk in the fierce competition to accept the baptism of the market. In the short term, decreasing subsidies to new energy vehicles will pose a greater pressure, but in long term it is conducive to China's new energy automotive industry.
