【Ming Li Lecture Hall, No. 38, 2021】

On July 8, 2021, Dr. Huang Junling, head of international Clean Energy Laboratory of China Three Gorges Corporation, was invited to give an academic lecture. The lecture was successfully held in conference room 317 of the main building of Beijing Institute of Technology. Hosted by Mr. Wang Bo from the Department of Technology and Economics, many teachers and students attended the lecture.

Dr. Huang Junling first introduced the background of China's major strategic decision to achieve carbon peak by 2030 and carbon neutral by 2060. Then, the overall planning and framework of China's central enterprises in the "dual control" strategy are introduced in detail, including the timeline of carbon peak and carbon neutral, the implementation path of supply-side reform, and the current situation and future potential of wind and light energy development. Finally, Dr. Huang junling introduced the specific path and plan of China Three Gorges Corporation to achieve carbon peak and carbon neutrality, as well as his suggestions for improving China's green and low-carbon policy system.

The lecture was rich in content, vivid and interesting, which aroused great interest of teachers and students and led to heated discussions and exchanges.

Brief introduction of Dr. Huang Junling

Junling Huang joined the COMMUNIST Party of China (CPC) in May 2021, graduated from Harvard University with a doctorate degree in engineering science, is a senior engineer, a candidate of the National Overseas High-level Talent Introduction Program, a contact service expert for CPC members of China Three Gorges Corporation, and an industry tutor of the College of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of Southern University of Science and Technology. Dr. Huang junling focuses on the national energy governance system and sustainable energy development, international clean energy science and technology innovation theory and practice, international clean energy company business model, think tank operation management system and development path of the group. In the three Gorges Group, he has been guiding the research of "Carbon peak and Carbon Neutrality Action Plan of The Group company". At the same time, he is also participating in the topic of "Carbon peak and Carbon Neutrality Path research of Central Enterprises" sponsored by state-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission.
