Introduction to report content:

In recent years, the importance of interdisciplinary or Transdisciplinarity has become prominent. However, whether it is from natural disciplines to social disciplines, or from social disciplines to natural disciplines, there is no mature paradigm for reference. The intersection of management studies with other disciplines has its unique characteristics and opportunities. Currently, the two important paradigms in management research - induction or deduction - have a certain scientific foundation in their intersection with other disciplines. At the same time, as the research process between different disciplines roughly follows the process of "discovering problems, proposing problems, and solving problems", interdisciplinary research can be carried out in one or more of these three stages in a timely manner. Constrained by the cognitive bias or disciplinary basis difference of researchers, and the lack of scientific training in Transdisciplinarity, opportunities and challenges coexist in Transdisciplinarity. Therefore, this exchange will be based on management science, exploring how to analyze one's own discipline before attempting interdisciplinary research. Specifically, this exchange will use catching up and industrial upgrading as examples to explain and explore the research background, development context, and remaining issues. Among them, for the development context section, this lecture analyzes the characteristics, research design, research process, and presentation of research results of catching up research; And based on this, expand on potential opportunities for interdisciplinary scientific research. Secondly, after sorting out the remaining issues, the possibility of cross cutting between small and large fields will be explored based on years of practical work and research experience. Finally, share the current ongoing research projects and unpublished research results, including traditional management research topics and interdisciplinary research trends.
