Professor Ma Baolong's Team Case Accepted into Canada's Ivey Case Library

On March 12, the teaching case "BYD: From Battery Manufacturer to Electric Vehicle Innovator," developed and written by Professor Ma Baolong, Associate Professor Zhang Yongji, and others from the School of Management and Economics at our university, was officially included in the prestigious Ivey Publishing case library. This case describes the journey of BYD from a battery manufacturer to a global leader in electric vehicle manufacturing.

This inclusion marks the second case from our school to be accepted into the Ivey case library, signifying a new breakthrough in our business administration case development and construction efforts.

The development and teaching of excellent cases are crucial for the advancement of management and economic disciplines. International teaching cases are an important indicator for evaluating management or business schools and hold significant weight in the accreditations by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the Association of MBAs (AMBA). They also play a role in the evaluations conducted by the Ministry of Education in China for business administration disciplines and professional degree levels.

The Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario in Canada began using cases for business teaching in 1923. It is a world-class business school and, along with Harvard Business School, is a pioneer of case-based teaching in North America. The Ivey case library, established by the Ivey School of Business, is internationally renowned and, along with the Harvard case library and the European case library, is considered one of the "three major international business case libraries," representing the highest standards of international teaching cases. Its cases are purchased and widely used by major business schools worldwide.
