Invited Talk: Professor Alan Deardorff, University of Michigan

  May 12, in the afternoon, Professor Alan Deardorff, School of Economics and Management, University of Michigan, gave a report entitled "The New World of Interlocking Free Trade Agreements: Are We Moving in the Right Direction?" in the Auditorium 241 of the Main Building. Professor Ma Ming, Director of the Department of Applied Economics, presided over the lecture. SME teachers and students listened to the report and participated in discussion.

 

 

Speaker Profile:
  Alan V. Deardorff, Professor of University of Michigan on international economics and economic and public policy. In 1971 he obtained a Ph.D. in economics at Cornell University, taught at the University of Michigan since 1970. From 2007, served as Deputy Director of Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy, and has consulted for the State Council, Treasury, Labor, and many other U.S. government agencies and international agencies like OECD, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and the World Bank.
