SME Successfully Holds 2010 Young Scholar Academic Seminar

 December 11, 2010, SME Young Scholars Academic Seminar opened at Room 241of the Main Building. Professor Yan Zhi-Jun, Assistant Dean and Director of the Center for Research and Academic Exchange chaired the opening ceremony. Dean Professor Wei Yiming attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Five experts from Tsinghua University, Beijing Technology and Business University, Beijing Normal University, Beijing University and Renmin University of China  as well as some SME professors served as reviewers.

  The seminar set up two sections: an academic review workshop (December 11) and a school review workshop (December 18). All SME young teachers participated in the academic review workshop. Young scholars described in the meeting their academic achievements in their respective discipline in 2010, and fully exchanged academic ideas with expert reviewers and other young scholars.

  The aim of the institution of the seminar is to encourage young scholars to exchange academic ideas, reward outstanding academic achievements and build a communication platform.
  A total of 11 young scholars were selected by the Academic Review section and will enter the School Review on December 18, when those young scholars will conduct more in-depth interdisciplinary exchange, and compete for outstanding young scholars at school level.
