November 23, 2010, Dr. Hector Ponce from the University of Santiago, Chile, gave a brilliant academic lecture "An overview of the use of information and communication technology in Chile and the experimental evaluation of visual software components to support thinking skills development " at Room 216 of the Main Building. Prof. Yan Zhi-Jun chaired the lecture.
Dr. Hector Ponce introduced the application of information and communication technologies in Chile and demonstrate his research results in terms of thinking skills. He described vividly with graphics and animations Chile’s development in E-Readiness and E-Government, as well as their link and comparison with European, American and Asian countries. Finally, Dr. Hector Ponce demonstrated a thinking skills training software he developed on an experimental basis. The experiment process and experimental results were described in detail, and examples of the practical application were given.
The lecture’s rich content and lively form aroused great interest in participating students, and created a good interaction.
