Dr. Burton A. Abrams, Professor of Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics, University of Delaware, USA, came to lecture in SME on June 3. His talk focused on current banking crisis and the responses from federal government in the US.
Using money multiplier argumentation to campare current economic crisis in the US with that during the Depression during 1929-33, Prof. Abrams pointed the unique features of the former. He also stressed the role the US federal government has played and consequences henceforth, in addition to his suggestions to its aftermaths.
A Few Words about UDel and Lerner College
UDel was founded in 1743, making it one of the oldest in the nation. Her current president is Patrick T. Harker, previously Dean of the world-famous Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Lerner College of Business and Economics as part of the university has received many awards in the past.
