On the morning of April 19th, Dr. Hooman Peimani, a renowned Canadian energy economist, visited our school and began a nine-day exchange of research activities. Prof. Wei Yiming, Dean of the School of Management and Economics, Prof. Yan Zhijun, Associate Dean, Prof. Lu Xin, Director of the Research and Academic Exchange Center, and Dr. Hooman Peimani discussed the issues of academic cooperation.
First of all, Professor Wei Yiming welcomed Dr. Hooman Peimani’s visit and after learning that Dr. Hooman Peimani’s research experience includes the Energy Research Institute of the Asia-Pacific Energy Research Center, the Arab Oil Company, the International Atomic Energy Agency and the United Nations Environment Programme and other international institutions, Professor Wei Yiming and Dr. Hooman Peimani discussed the future academic cooperation issues and sincerely invited Dr. Hooman Peimani to deliver relevant lectures to teachers and students of our school. Dr. Hooman Peimani will present two academic lectures on the sixth floor of the main building of the Zhongguancun campus and Liangxiang campus in the morning of April 20th and April 23rd respectively. The topics are "Shrinking or Expanding Market? The Asia- Pacific Region and the Fate of LNG” and “Russia's Asian Look for Energy Exports: Potentials and Limits”
Professor Yan Zhijun communicated with Dr. Hooman Peimani about further cooperation and exchanges. Dr. Hooman Peimani's own research focuses on the Asia-Pacific region. He had five years of experience in energy economic research in Tokyo. Dr. Hooman Peimani expressed his deep recognition for the strong scientific research atmosphere of Beijing Institute of Technology, and also expressed that he is looking forward to visit the School of Management and Economics once again in the future.
