Invited Talk: Professor Jian Chen, Tsinghua University

  December 23, 2011, at 15:30 pm, Professor Jian Chen, Tsinghua University, gave a lecture entitled “Study on the Group-buying Auction” at lecture hall 241 in the main building. Dean Professor Yiming Wei, Secretary Professor Jinlin Li, Associate Dean Professor Zhaohua Wang and some students listened to the report. Assistant Dean Prof. Zhi-Jun Yan, hosted the lecture.



  Professor Jian Chen first analyzed the Group-buying auction (GBA) assumptions, explained the process of bidding and tendering. He then introduced the seller pricing strategy, and compared the GBA with the FPM. Lastly, an analysis of the effects of collusion on GBA participants was presented.

  Tsinghua University Lenovo Chair Professor of Management Science and Engineering, Director of Tsinghua University Department of Management Science and Engineering. Main research areas: supply chain management, e-commerce, business intelligence and decision analysis, system optimization and forecasting technology.
