The 9th China-Japan Joint Workshop on Sustainable Management of Cities and Regions under Disaster and Environmental Risks was held in Beijing on October 9-18, 2017. The seminar was jointly organized by Beijing Institute of Technology Center for Energy and Environmental Policy, Beijing Institute of Technology School of Management and Economics, Beijing Municipal Key Laboratory of Energy Economy and Environmental Management, and Institute of Disaster Prevention at Kyoto University. More than 70 teachers and students from Kyoto University of Japan, Ryerson University of Canada, Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing Normal University, Sichuan Normal University, China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research, China University of Mining and Technology, Beijing University of Science and Technology participated in the conference.
The Ninth China-Japan Joint Workshop Report On- Site Under the theme of "Risk Management and Sustainable Development in the Background of Climate Change", this workshop is divided into three parts: the keynote report, the invitation report and the poster display. Professor TATANO Hirokazu of Kyoto University in Japan, Professor Wei Yiming of Beijing Institute of Technology, Professor HATAYAMA Michinori of Kyoto University in Japan and Professor Liu Lancui of Beijing Normal University made the keynote speech. In addition, 26 experts and young scholars made an invitation report. During the meeting, 15 young scholars presented their research results through posters. At the closing ceremony of the conference, 2 first prize, 4 second prize and 2 third prize were selected according to the topics of the report, contents of the report and presentation skills of the participating students.
