September 25, 2017, "China-EU low-carbon city development path seminar (2017)" was held at Beijing Institute of Technology. This symposium relies mainly on the International Cooperation and Exchange Project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China: Dynamic Simulation, Comparison and Application of Low Carbon Development Path in Central European Cities. The participants from the Chinese side are Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing Normal University, Tsinghua University, from the European side of the participating institutions are the British East Anglia University, the University of Leeds, the French International Center for Environmental and Development Research and the German Wuppertal climate and energy graduate School. Professor Wei Yiming, Director of Beijing Institute of Technology Energy and Environmental Policy Research Center, delivered a speech.
This seminar focused on a series of key scientific issues on how to develop energy and low-carbon development at the city level. Based on the case of typical cities in Central Europe, this meeting analyzed the framework and evolution of the overall institutional framework for urban low-carbon development. Prof. Liang Qiaomei from the School of Management and Economics of Beijing Institute of Technology, Prof. Liu Lancui from Beijing Normal University, Professor Guan Dabo of East Anglia University and Dr. Wang Yu of Tsinghua University, attended the meeting.
