July 21, 2017, at 9:00 am, at the invitation of the Knowledge Management and Data Analysis Laboratory, Prof. Wang Xianwen, Department of Humanities, Dalian University of Technology, gave an academic report entitled "Data Mining of Academic Papers" at Room 418 of the Main Building The report was hosted by Professor Wang Xuefeng. A number of teachers and students as well as some scholars from other institutions attended the report.
Professor Wang Xianwen first introduced the four data objects of metrology research: published data, cited data, applied data and supplementary measurement data Altmetric, and specifically introduced the applied data, including its mechanism and the four dimensions - time Dimensions, regional dimensions, content dimensions, and guided link dimensions, and shared typical application cases of applied data based on different dimensions. In addition, Professor Wang explained the way to applied data collection on different data sources such as Nature, Science, PLOS, PeerJ, Frontiers, Springer, Taylor & Francis, Elsevier, Web of knowledge, and so on. Finally, the participating teachers and students and Professor Wang Xianwen launched a wonderful discussion and exchange.
