Associate prof. Wang Huaiyu Reports "The Journey of Case Development"

  On April 18, 2017, the School of Management and Economics 2017 Case Workshop Series held its second report in room 418 of the main building. The keynote speaker was professor Wang Huaiyu of the Department of Applied Economics. The title o fthe report was: the Journey of Case Development. Dean Professor Wei yiming, Vice Dean Professor Tang baojun and more than 20 teachers participated in the event. Professor Ma baolong hosted the report.

  

  Associate Professor Wang Huaiyu, in combination with his research and teaching experience, introduced his experiences in class and the intent of developing cases. He shared his first case writing experience, from material sources to the writing process, summed up problems, confusions and lessons learned in the first case development, including the communication with business personnel, the change of role, the application of theory and practice, and the focus in case writing. On this basis, He also shared the content of the ongoing case development. The teachers presented valuable suggestions on title modification, story arrangement, theory application and content expansion, etc..

  Dean Wei Yi-ming summarized the school’s work and achivements in case development, and put forward requirements and hope for ascension and internationalization, actual use of the cases in teaching and promotion etc.. He encouraged experienced teachers to aim at a higher level of international case base, and build brand and characteristic for our school’s case development.
