Yong Geng (part time)

  Yong Geng , born in August 1971, is a distinguished professor and a Ph.D supervisor. He became to serve as the dean in January 2015. He obtained his bachelor, master and doctorate from Southeast University, Dalian University of Technology and Dalhousie University in Canada, respectively. He is the winner of national fund for distinguished young scientist and excellent 100 talent program of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He served as a lead author for IPCC-AR5, a solid waste management expert for UNCRD, a visiting fellow of UNU-IAS, and an expert for UNIDO’s Resource Efficient Cleaner Production program, as well as one national expert for MOST’s National Sustainable Development Demonstration Area. He received the “Wuyi” labor medal from the city of Shenyang and was evaluated as a supervisor of 100 excellent Ph.D thesis program and an excellent graduate supervisor organized by Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has undertaken various research projects, funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST). He has published over 100 research papers in the peer-reviewed international journals, including the prestigious journals of “Science” and “Nature”. He also obtained 8 research awards from different governmental agencies.
