The Department got her current name in 2009, she started functioning in 1980 as a discipline of Management Engineering, and got the right to grant master's degree in 2000.

　　Main research areas include Technological Economy Evaluation Theories and Methods, Innovation and Sustainable Development, Technical Innovation and Scientific & Technological Management, Investment/Financing Decision and Risk Management, National Defense Industrial Technological Economy and Management, Scientific and Technological Development Strategy, Real Estate Policy and Project Management, and Technological Analysis and Modeling in Logistics Systems.

　　In recent years, the Department has received more than 20 research assignments from NSFC, National Philosophy and Social Science Foundation, Ministry of Education Humanities and Social Sciences foundation, the Henry Fok Foundation of Young Teachers. Besides, she has undertaken over 70 research projects sponsored by ministries and great enterprises. What' s more, she has gotten over 300 papers published, 50 of which are indexed by SCI, SSCI and El, as well as 50 monographs, with two books honored as National Eleventh Five-Year Plan Textbooks announced by MOE and one sponsored by National Publication Fund.
